Kindergarten Jumpstart Program

Franklin Elementary Title I Kindergarten "Jumpstart" Program

Jumpstart Program
Jump Start is a one week/4 day program

Our program is designed to offer our young students an opportunity to be better prepared for Kindergarten. They will be involved in both academic and social activities that are appropriate to their age group. Learning and fun will be combined to make this productive and exciting. This program is FREE for FES students.

The Benefits
The goal of Jump Start is to help new kindergarten students get acclimated to the school learning environment.
This fun, positive experience helps our kindergarten students become familiar with school before school begins. Providing kids with an early introduction to their teachers, classrooms and classmates helps build confidence and ease the transition so the focus can be on learning once the school year begins. In addition, it supports students and families for a positive transition into kindergarten.

Who should attend?
The program is open to all registered students who will be entering grades Kindergarten in September in the Township of Union Public Schools. While parents are strongly encouraged to have their children participate, enrollment is optional.

Who will Teach in the program?
The children will be taught by professional staff members who have experience in the primary grades. There will be a nurse on staff as well.

What is being offered?
Developmentally appropriate activities may include early literacy skills, phonemic awareness, and math. The children will be exposed to these skills through interactive, hands-on, and fun experiences. There will be plenty of time for socialization, physical activity and the arts. Students attend Jump Start without their parents.
